Welcome!

Welcome, whether you're new to my stuff or an old reader, to Farfalla (previously Coming Later, lately Ooh! Shiny!). The butterfly imagery, in addition to being just plain adorable, is indicative of the blog's changes over the past year or so, but no worries; I'm having as much fun as ever and I hope that's apparent.
I hope you enjoy, and as always,

De-lurk post!

So I recently noticed that I have jumped to TWENTY -THREE TWENTY-FIVE FOLLOWERS! Which is kind of a big deal given that Ooh Shiny capped at eleven. And since many of you are completely unknown to me, I ask that you stand up and be counted! In the comments, I'd ask that you tell me:

1.  Your name (user or RL, up to you!)
2. URL (if you have a blog, twitter, website, I'd love to check it out!) and/or location (doesn't need to be specific if you're nervous--state/country is fine!)
3. How you found my site
4. Any improvements/suggestions you have.

Long-time readers or real-life friends don't need to comment, but you can if you like. ;)

  1. Hahah! I was totally going to comment as some kind of mysterious alter-ego...but then I realised that I wasn't actually creative enough to make something up. Oops. :(

  2. Hello. My name is Lexie. I live in the Louisville, Ky area. The link to my personal blog is http://eternallygeek.blogspot.com/ I found your blog in an article i was reading about personal blogging and how to keep it interesting and your blog was mentioned and I decided to check it out. I really liked what I saw so I decided to give it a follow. Haven't been a follower for long so I don't really feel like I have a right or am in a position to tell you to change or improve anything. Anyways, it is nice to meet you and I wish you happy blogging!

  3. Hi! :) I'm Flora from NotAnotherRainySunday (http://notanotherrainysunday.blogspot.com/) and I live in London. I found your blog via a forum - somebody had written a post about keeping blogs interesting (so I think probably the same post that Lexie, above, read). I thought I'd check your blog as they spoke highly of it, and I'm glad that I did! Any improvements? hmm. I don't think I have any suggestions because I always think it's best to blog about what you're interested in, as that's the best way to enjoy writing a blog! (sorry that wasn't very helpful :s)
Anyway, carry on with the blogging, as I'm definitely a fan :)

  7. Hi! My name is Andreea and I live in Virginia. I found your blog through another site on how to keep your blog interesting or something like that. The author gave your blog as and example of fresh/interesting writing styles, so I figured I'd check it out (and I agree!). I mainly read your site through my google reader, so don't have much in the way of suggestions :-(. Actually, I've noticed some of my subscriptions have a "comment" button linked right in to each post. I'm not sure how you add that (I've been looking into it for my own site), but if you could I think it'd make it easier for people to comment (all those extra clicks to get to the page are hard). My site is allawesomethings.com if you'd like to check it out!

  8. Saffie and Andreea, thanks! Somehow I didn't catch Saffie's comment until just now.

Saffie: looks like a lot of people found me through the same blog! That's awesome! :) Thanks for the suggestion about the ads... are they annoying? I added Adsense as an app when I first joined Blogger in 2007 (you get $.01 for each ad clicked, but you don't get paid till you have $100) but since it hasn't paid off in four years I should probably just give up. ;)

Andreea: I've been to Virginia! On choir tour. I had some delicious sweet tea (holy cow y'all aren't lying about the "sweet") and went to historical sites and all that stuff. I will look into how to streamline the comments... I really like having all the options at the bottoms of the posts but I'll see what I can do. :)

Someone link me to this blog that talks about me! I want to read it! =D
