It was an episode of Angel (a nonexistent one concocted for the purposes of my dream) and the same thing happened multiple times from a bunch of people's perspectives. The first was from the main characters' POV. They snuck into a high class party, saved an innocent Laura Bell Bundy from being eaten, (the bad guys were taken by the Senior Partners in the form of a terrifying ice princess type demon played by Heather Morris), the city briefly flooded but that got fixed, and all went home happy and well.
Turns out there was an entire subplot involving a demon taking over Fred's body and Fred was actually awol, flitting through other people's bodies, during the entire episode. *I* was Fred, and actually saw that the bad guy was a teenager who had the ability to "fly" on moisture--she would freeze/solidify moisture in the air and walk on it--but needed humans to fuel her ability (and was not, in fact, killing or eating them, she was sending them to an alternate universe exactly the same as our own except NOT our own so in ours they were disappearing but they themselves never knew the difference).
So in the subplot, Fred followed the girl (I think her name was Irene, or some fantastical name looking somewhat like Irene), who stays up high in the sky most of the time (more moisture) but came back to LA briefly to visit her friends and recharge. Her friends were excited to see her and even though I (and Irene) tried to impress upon them the importance of keeping quiet and not letting scary Heather Morris catch them, they didn't listen.
One of them said, "Irene, do you remember that night after prom when we ice skated all over the beach and then the roofs when it started raining? Can't we do that just one more time?"
So Irene and the girls started skating over the roofs (they would follow her as her feet turned the puddles to ice) and it was really cool and I seem to recall there being a really lovely classical soundtrack, but all of a sudden the city started flooding and all of a sudden we saw Heather Morris skating across the sky-high tidal waves towards Irene. The water around Irene started to freeze and civilians, controlled by HM, started to rise up through the ice and help to capture her.
...I flipped to HMs perspective (well, I was watching her) and saw her searching for Irene from the beginning of the episode, with this super epic navy blue lacy draped dress over an ice blue sheath and crazy hair all over, and eventually realising there were too many places to hide on a 4-d plane, filled the entire city of LA with water so it would all be one level and she could take Irene more easily.
Which she did. And then Fred was suddenly given her body again, arriving with the others at the hotel as they were congratulating themselves for saving the innocent and eliminating the evil.
It... wasn't a very happy dream.
